Lizzie Velasquez is a motivational speaker, anti-bullying activist, and author. She was born with a rare congenital disease that prevents her from weight gain. She also was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome. She’s blind in her right eye and is vision impaired in her left eye. Her story came from 2006 on YouTube when she was nicknamed the “World’s Ugliest Woman”. At seventeen she spoke on against bullying. On her YouTube videos she made over seventy million viewers.
Lizzie’s story was rooted on by millions of people. There’s people who still put negative comments. She’s a beautiful young woman who can stand out against those negative remarks. During her speech she gave a TED Talk titled “How Do YOU Define Yourself”. It earned her a motivational speaker and an anti-bullying activism.
In 2015 for the National Bullying Prevention Month Lizzie hosted a social media challenge for Bystanders Revolution’s month of natural process. She put out three books titled: “Lizzie Beautiful: The Lizzie Velasquez Story” in 2010, “Be Beautiful, Be You” in 2012, and “Choosing Happiness” in 2014. In 2015 there’s a documentary film on her spirit and speaking out titled: “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story”.
I viewed the documentary film and it was amazing. It’s right for Lizzie to stand out for herself. She’s a person who can feel more positive about herself. She can open up to everything, including how a person looks and feel about themselves.
