You Don’t Own Me

The song “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace is one of my favorite songs so far. I don’t like the rap part, it feels like its totally ruin the entire song. I discover a couple of videos on YouTube that has the song without the rap part. One of the videos is edited and clean. It’s the best thing that someone edited the song and put up on YouTube. I can listen to the song over and over again.

In my own words, this song is about taking that’s an advantage from someone who’s horrible to you. You stand up for yourself and prove to yourself that no one don’t own you in any direction. The song can carry that strong meaning and use it in a powerful way. Someone can step into your boundaries. You wanted them to back away. The end of the song is like you’re free and you’re doing things your own manner.

There’s so many lessons from this song like “you don’t own me” or “don’t tell me what to do”. This song is an inspiration for someone who felt that way. They can probably ease their pain through this song.
