“Aubrie & Daisy” Review

The documentary on Netflix called “Aubrie & Daisy” is about two teenage girls who were sexually assaulted and have photos linked all over. I was sad when they have to get through with this, especially when one of them have committed suicide. I was outraged when the guys who did this to them has a lesser punishment like less time in detention and probation. I even felt relieved when they’re not only a group of individuals like them join together so they can take a stand and fight for justice.

The girl that has taken her life after being sexually assaulted and have photos linked all over her parents had to get a stand and fight for their daughter’s justice. It was sad that they have to get through this. Later on, they can still remember and honor her like graduation. It’s sort of unfair that the two guys that did this to their daughter have a lesser conviction. It may be fairly upset with them that nothing will ever go to have their daughter back.

The other girl and her family have to go through the toughest time. The girl was getting into her darker side like harming herself and other things. There’s also so many negative remarks on social media. Social media have been the worst of all, especially when the charges against the individual who’s doing this to her have been dropped and later have been sentenced to probation. The girl’s mother has mentioned in the documentary interview that their home have been vandalized and burnt down. They had to move because of what they have to get through.

The girl had encountered a group of individuals who have to go through the same thing as her. Together they share their story, take a stand and fight for justice.

I have learned from this documentary that no one is not alone and to consider a stand even if you want to seal your identity. It’s kind of a good learning lesson for teens everywhere, especially going out to parties.
